As in the other regions visited by the Prime Ministerthe Tambacounda region has shown a strong mobilization to welcome Ousmane Sonko. The mega-meeting for the South-East pole, encompassing the Kédougou and Tambacounda regions, was held at the Tamba regional stadium.
"I am deeply touched to see that Pastef has brought so much joy, happiness and hope to the Senegalese people," declared Ousmane Sonko, acknowledging the warm reception he had received.
He added:
"We have no choice but to make a success of this project, for which our compatriots have sacrificed their lives. Everywhere we went, we saw hope, but also, and above all, certainty."
"The system is in its death throes, and must be brought to an end".
Adopting a thematic campaign strategy by pole, Ousmane Sonko spoke of the potential of the South-East pole, which he considers the most theoretically rich. However, he deplored the fact that this wealth is insufficiently exploited for the benefit of local populations, to the advantage of private interests. His aim is to reverse this situation, so that the region's prosperity benefits its inhabitants.
"The system is in its death throes, and when a system is weakened to the marrow, it must be ended. The end is scheduled for November 17," declared Ousmane Sonko, to enthusiastic cheers from his supporters.
